Edith (Harlow) Dugle
Edith (Harlow) Dugle, age 97, of Rising Sun, Indiana, formerly of Sunman, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, April 7, 2021, at her residence surrounded by her loving children. She was born Sept. 9, 1923, in Switzerland County, Indiana, the daughter of James Otis and Lenna Mae (Stewart) Harlow. Mrs. Dugle attended elementary school at Riverview, Plum Creek and Thornhill as her family moved from farm to farm early in her life. The family bought a farm in Fairview, Indiana, and the Harlow family was finally settled. Edith worked hard on the farm, loving her work outside, planting the crops, milking the cows, feeding the chickens. She could take care of any farm work that needed to be done. Edith especially loved horses and taking care of them, riding, plowing, feeding, watering, and harnessing them. She was baptized at the Plum Creek Baptist Church.
School changing names this summer
There will be a new school in the Sunman-Dearborn Community School Corporation – at least in name. The Sunman-Dearborn Middle School is changing its name to East Central Middle School by July 1.
Master arborist par of Arbor Day
The Harrison Tree Board will celebrate Arbor Day with a program at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 27, at the Harrison Community Center Recreation Room, 300 George St.

Rev. Francis Dewey West
Rev. Francis Dewey West, 82, of Lawrenceburg, Indiana, passed away peacefully April 7, 2021, at his residence with his family by his side. Francis was born in Oneida, Tennessee, on Aug. 18, 1938, a son of the late Flora and Bernard West.
