Shiner Royalty

Rising Sun High School students celebrated Prom Saturday, May 1, at the Rising Sun Senior/Community Building. Several were chosen as royalty by their classmates. Juniors Jordan Parsons and Taylor Carrigan, on left, were crowned Prince and Princess, while seniors Ryleigh McAlister and Chris Bowne were Queen and King. Students celebrated after-prom at the Rising Sun Church of Christ where they played different games, winning tickets that they could redeem for prizes, like Amazon gift cards. With Ohio County reverting back to COVID-19 Yellow status, a slight adjustment had to be made for prom preview. It was held at the high school gymnasium as opposed to the church, to allow more room for social distancing. PHOTO BY MASON J. UHLMANSIEK
