When Donna Engel bought her home on Bond Road in October 2019, she knew about the nearby landfill but was told nothing extreme would happen at the site. Just over a year later she joins her neighbors and other nearby residents in an effort to stop a future expansion of the Bond Road Landfill.
Greendale City Attorney Anthony M. Smart said an ordinance was the approval for the bond ordinance for Crossing at Tanners Creek development along Indiana 1.
State Rep. Cindy Abrams (R-Harrison) applauded Heartland Steel Products’ announcement of expanding its facility in Harrison, creating 25 new jobs and investing $650,000 to expand production capacity.
Neighbors of a proposed development on Edgewood Road showed up to express their concerns at the Harrison City Council meeting on June 15. “We have concerns not only with the traffic, with the type of home, with the schools,” neighbor Michael Brech said.
The following railroad crossings will be under construction and closed to through traffic starting as early as Monday, June 21: - Gaff Street - Railroad Avenue - West Fourth Street (crossing near Exporting Street) - Exporting / Second Street - George Street; and - Manchester Landing The crossings are anticipated to be closed at last three days. The following intersections will be open for detour traffic: - Indiana Avenue, - West Fourth Street (crossing near West Conwell Street), and - Importing Street..
The new Trek & Run Trail Challenge sets levels of achievement with motivating milestones for hikers and runners. The program creates a fun trekking community where mileage is logged and shared to earn prizes at the end of the challenge season on Nov.
CSX Transportation is working along the railroad tracks on William Street in Lawrenceburg until next week. Some of the work will include removing the railroad ties. There will be intermittent traffic delays in this area. Starting the week of June 21, CSX will replace railroad ties and concrete curbing. Temporary road closures may occur that week with Elm and Vine streets open as detours for the entire project. The project is expected to be completed by June 25, depending on the weather.
