SHELBYVILLE - East Central girls cross country junior Callie Bentley will be making her third IHSAA State Finals appearance this coming Saturday at Indiana State University’s LaVern Gibson Championship Course.She’ll have company this time, as the Lady Trojans broke through as the fifth and final team qualifier in Saturday’s IHSAA Regional 4 at Shelbyville’s Blue River Veterans Memorial Park.EIAC and sectional individual champion Bentley led Coach Steve Cotherman’s girls runners with her sixth-place finish at Shelby’s 5-kilometer (3.1-mile) course, clocking 18:20.2 against one of the state’s toughest regional field.Defending state champion Libby Dowty, an Indian Creek junior, won the individual girls regional title Saturday with the top time of 17:15.8.Franklin Central captured the team regional title, packing its top 4 runners among the top 27 finishers for a score of 73.
