Predicting spring

Students in Rachel Ransom’s first-grade class at Moores Hill Elementary learned about the legend of the famous groundhog Punxsutawney Phil on Groundhog’s Day. Marlie, Morticia, Scarlett, and Sophia are shown with their groundhog coming out of his burrow. Harrison online student awarded for community service

Taylor Oberjohann of Harrison was among the seven Ohio Connections Academy (OCA) students to receive a Prudential Spirit of Community Award in recognition of their volunteer service to the community. Oberjohann, an eighth grader at the online public charter school, worked with school, city and county officials, as well as representatives from Duke Energy, to replace and upgrade traffic and crosswalk lighting signals in front of the local middle school to ensure the safety of the pedestrian and vehicle traffic.
