SUBMITTED PHOTO Students at Rising Sun High School were able to obtain their food handlers certification via ServSafe thanks to certification scholarships provided by the Ohio County Community Foundation. Course content included basic food safety, personal hygiene, cross-contamination and allergens, time and temperature, and cleaning and sanitation.

Excited about science

Second graders at Moores Hill Elementary are learning about properties of matter, physical and chemical properties, physical and chemical changes, and how engineers and inventors use that knowledge to create new things. Caterina Russell is a sophomore at Rising Sun High School. She is an eight-year 4H member and has been in Drama Club for five years. She also likes to draw and has nine years of dance experience. This is the first in a regular feature that will appear in the Rising Sun Recorder and Ohio County News.
