Legislature holding schools accountable

Here in Indiana, we believe access to a quality education is a key to success. Our state budget reflects this priority, with over $10 billion per year – almost half of our budget – dedicated to K-12 education. That’s why I supported a bill to hold Indiana schools accountable and recognize excellent performance with an updated A-F grading scale.

Guest column: Disagreeing with Rumpke newsletters

Since early 2021, Rumpke has distributed newsletters in selected areas of western Hamilton County regarding its Bond Road landfill and has posted its newsletters online. In those newsletters, Rumpke has made statements which are incorrect and/or misleading, and would lead people to incorrectly conclude that future reactivation or expansion of the Bond Road landfill would pose no threat to public health and the environment. The purpose of this news release is to set the record straight on several statements made by Rumpke in its newsletters.
