City honors health officer

Rising Sun Mayor Steve Slack recently signed an executive order proclaiming honor and thanks to Dr. Christopher Walcott, Ohio County health officer, and his staff at the Ohio County Health Department for their “tireless efforts” in combating the COVID-19 pandemic.

RISING SUN - Senior righthander Landon Cole authored a 5-inning no-hitter over Madison Shawe Memorial Monday for Rising Sun baseball’s second-straight conference win, 14-0. Back-to-back Ohio River Valley Conference victories served well to erase the memory of a 14-9 stumble at Southwestern (Hanover) Monday, April 12, in the Shiners’ conference opener.
