Mavis Carole (VanTyle) Uhlmansiek, age 72, of Rising Sun, Indiana, entered this life on Aug. 20, 1948, in Milan, Indiana. She was the loving daughter of the late Lawrence Earl and Mary Eliza (Sherman) VanTyle. She attended Cass Union Elementary School and was a 1966 graduate of the Rising Sun High School. Mavis was united in marriage on June 23, 1966, at the First Baptist Church in Rising Sun, Indiana, to Mason James Uhlmansiek. This happy union was blessed with two sons, Mark James and Maury Jay and two daughters, Melinda Carole and Melody Caye. Mavis and Mason shared nearly 55 loving years of marriage together until her death.

Edith (Harlow) Dugle, age 97, of Rising Sun, Indiana, formerly of Sunman, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, April 7, 2021, at her residence surrounded by her loving children. She was born Sept. 9, 1923, in Switzerland County, Indiana, the daughter of James Otis and Lenna Mae (Stewart) Harlow. Mrs. Dugle attended elementary school at Riverview, Plum Creek and Thornhill as her family moved from farm to farm early in her life. The family bought a farm in Fairview, Indiana, and the Harlow family was finally settled. Edith worked hard on the farm, loving her work outside, planting the crops, milking the cows, feeding the chickens. She could take care of any farm work that needed to be done. Edith especially loved horses and taking care of them, riding, plowing, feeding, watering, and harnessing them. She was baptized at the Plum Creek Baptist Church.

Patricia Louise “Pat” LaVelle, 72, of Rising Sun, Indiana, passed away on Monday, March 15, 2021, at St. Elizabeth Dearborn in Lawrenceburg, Indiana.

Raymond E (Gene) Roberts Jr., 78 of The Villages, Florida, died March 13, 2021. He was born March 22, 1942, in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Larry Clifton Hastings, 83, of Moores Hill, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at his residence. Larry was born in Ohio County, Indiana on July 4, 1937, a son of the late Florence (Clifton) Hastings and Ezra Stewart Hastings.
