Aurora has big plans

Aurora Mayor Mark Drury used the State of the City address last week to thank the city workers for the time and effort they put into their work. “Nothing happens in the city at the hand of one individual,” Drury said.

Winter brings cancellations and fun

Recent winter weather has been daunting for some. Students are on their fourth snow day and counting. The Ohio County Board of Commissioners closed the county courthouse, and the public library did the same. COVID vaccinations were even put on hold until the weather cooperated enough to make road conditions safe.

Review points out pros, cons of city

Rising Sun officials recently participated in a River Town Review workshop via a Zoom conference call with the National Park Service, Ohio River Recreation Trail, and other agencies. Those representing Rising Sun included David Hamilton of Ohio County Tourism, Jamie Bell of the Parks Department, Lane Siekman of Economic Development, and Cliff Thies of the Ohio County Historical Society.
