New Life Squad

Thanks to funding from the Rising Sun Regional Foundation, the Ohio County Rescue team was able to purchase a new ambulance and cot to transport their patients. A $40,000 grant helped to pay for the ambulance and another $11,000 grant went toward the purchase of the new cot. SUBMITTED PHOTO

Process underway to hire 2 police officers

Rising Sun Chief of Police Rodney Rimstidt said the hiring process is underway to hire two new officers for the Rising Sun Police Department. Rimstidt told the Rising Sun Board of Works meeting one new hire will replace Officer Wayne Siekman, who plans to retire in June, and the other will replace a veteran officer who plans to retire at the end of the year.

A Rare Snowfall

A record snowfall for April 21 left the grass and non hard surfaces covered with about 2 inches of snow at Lawrenceburg’s Ludlow Hill Park Wednesday morning. The roads were either slightly wet or dry after the overnight snowfall. The snow started to melt shortly after the sun came out from behind the clouds. MARC EMRAL/THE REGISTER
