Last weekend storms in Dearborn County produced a tornado. Late Monday evening, the National Weather Service in Wilmington, Ohio, confirmed an EF 1 tornado touched down near Moores Hills.
Moore’s Veterinary Clinic had an open house at its new location on 231 Industrial Access Road, Rising Sun, Saturday, June 5, Dr. Rachel Low and husband Ben welcomed many friends along with new and existing customers.
A new group is forming in Rising Sun with a goal of creating more opportunities for kids and adults by providing activities for everyone to enjoy. Derrick Davis of Rising Sun is geared up to provide an atmosphere where everyone can come together for recreational programs, trade programs and classes or just a place to hang out.

Dillsboro Main Street will award $8,000 again this year in matching grants for facade, awning and signage improvements in downtown Dillsboro. The purpose of the Facade/Awning/Signage Grant Program is to provide financial incentive to commercial or residential building owners located within the Dillsboro Downtown District.
The following railroad crossings will be under construction and closed to through traffic starting as early as Monday, June 21: - Gaff Street - Railroad Avenue - West Fourth Street (crossing near Exporting Street) - Exporting / Second Street - George Street; and - Manchester Landing The crossings are anticipated to be closed at last three days. CSX Transportation is working along the railroad tracks on William Street in Lawrenceburg until next week. Some of the work will include removing the railroad ties. There will be intermittent traffic delays in this area. Starting the week of June 21, CSX will replace railroad ties and concrete curbing. Temporary road closures may occur that week with Elm and Vine streets open as detours for the entire project. The project is expected to be completed by June 25, depending on the weather.
