Federal program helps with computer, internet services

Need help with computer costs during this difficult time? Employee Broadband Benefit, a new federal program, can offer up to $50 per month toward broadband service for eligible households, according to Matt Kelley, government relations manager of Comcast. The Federal Communications Commission created EBB as a requirement of the Consolidated Appropriations Act 2021 passed by Congress by order of the Federal Communications Commission in response to COVID.

Help needed for fire victim

An early morning fire on Wednesday, June 23, destroyed the interior of an apartment owned by Monte and Darlene Denbo at The Courtyard, 107 Fourth St. A renter, Bill Smith, 60, who is blind, was home at the time was asleep and was awakened by choking from the smoke.

Fair royalty

The royalty of the Ohio County Fair were named in May and reigned throughout this week at the fairgrounds. After interviews all of the candidates where they answered questions about their 4-H experience, Alayna Walcott, daughter of Jason and Dawn Walcott, was selected queen, while Olivia Cate, daughter of Steven and Kristie Cate, and Jacob Yauch, son of Dan and Jill Yauch, were selected princess and prince.
