LAWRENCEBURG – The Kennedy family has donated more toys for children who are involved in emergencies.This year, the stuffed toys went to the Lawrenceburg Emergency Rescue Unit to pass out to help relieve the stress children feel when under an emergency.The donations are in memory of Michael Kennedy, a former Lawrenceburg police and fire chief who was instrumental in building the departments to what they are today.“Mike didn’t express reasons for his actions, he just did things.

LAWRENCEBURG – An East Central High School and an Oldenburg Academy are this year’s Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship recipients from Dearborn County.Alexandra Seubert of EC and Lily Dennis of Oldenburg were named Monday by the Dearborn County Community Foundation to the honor.“Alexandra and Lily epitomize what the Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship is all about: community involvement, academic achievement, character and leadership,” said Fred McCarter, executive director of DCF.

HARRISON – Four fallen veterans were honored for their service and commitment to their country at the city’s annual Veterans Luncheon recently.Robert Pohlman, John Jones, Elmer Duwel and Edward Duwel were memorialized with a candlelight vigil at the Veterans Day event, hosted by Harrison’s Veterans of Foreign Wars.Pohlman served in the Navy, and was stationed near Japan.
RISING SUN – The Link 101 project team announced that it expects to provide its Preliminary Alternatives Screening Report early next year.According to Link 101 project spokesperson Mindy Peterson, the team has introduced 10 preliminary alternatives, or variations of plans, for the proposed State Route 101 Corridor between Markland Dam and U.S.
