The Sons of the American Legion will kick off its spring horseshoe tournaments Thursday, April 8. This year the games will be a bit less competitive in that one of their greatest pitchers passed away earlier this month at his apartment in Rising Sun.

Dave O’Mara Contractor was awarded the bid to pave Rising Sun streets this summer as part of the Community Crossings grant. Rising Sun City Council voted for the O’Mara contract after three bids came in on the project.

The COVID relief bill signed into law last week will provide Ohio County with over a million dollars in relief funds. Part of the American Rescue Plan Act, the State and Local Coronavirus Fiscal Recovery Funds will provide flexible aid to counties.
For the past six weeks, Ohio County resident Susan Sattler has been volunteering at the Lawrenceburg Event Center where she is helping with the COVID-19 vaccination clinic. Sattler typically donates one or two of those days, helping with the administration of about 400 vaccinations each day.
