Elementary students in Southwest Local Schools will have easier access to playground equipment this fall. To date, the school has raised $180,000 through private donations from community members and businesses for the installment of rubberized surfaces on the playgrounds at the three new elementary schools as well as ADA compliant equipment at Miami Whitewater Elementary.
Harrison residents will soon be able to travel around town with their under speed, low speed and utility vehicles. Council voted to adopt the ordinance that regulates low speed vehicles, like golf carts, and their travel around town April 6.
The Republican primary election is set to take place on May 4. Harrison voters will decide who will represent the Republican Party in the race for city council in November. There are no democratic candidates.

There will be no virtual school next year for Southwest Local School District students. Harrison Police arrested a man for reckless homicide on Sunday following a shooting that killed Antonio Rogers, 20, of Cincinnati. According to a press release from the Harrison Police Department, officers responded to The Shaker Point Apartments at 10:55 a.m.
