Homemakers celebrate achievements
The Ohio County Extension Homemakers met Thursday, April 22, at the Ohio County Public Library with 17 members, Ohio County Extension Educator Shannon Chipman, and seven guests attending. The theme was “Memories – Living in the Time of Covid 19.” Salem Hilltoppers Club took care of registration.
OCCF names scholarship recipients
The Ohio County Community Foundation has announced the 2021 Community/Junior College Scholarship recipients for Cycle I. Scholarships are $1,000 per award.

Hospice volunteers needed
“Our volunteers are the heart of our ministry and it is because of them that we are able to provide complete services to our patients,” said Rev. Patti Warning, chaplain and volunteer coordinator at Loving Hearts Hospice in Lawrenceburg and serving Dearborn, Franklin, Ohio and Ripley counties.

Mercy Health heart doctors have moved
The heart doctors with Mercy Health – The Heart Institute, Lawrenceburg, have moved to a different office. Their new office is at 360 Walnut St., Lawrenceburg.
Legion and auxiliary celebrating Poppy Day
The Rising Sun American Legion Auxiliary Post 59 will host Poppy Day on Saturday, May 8. Anyone interested in helping share poppies with the public can come to the Legion Post at 8:30 a.m.

Phi Beta Psi Sorority, Theta Lambda Chapter met on April 12 at The Ohio Co. Public Library.
Mountain Mission truck picking up in May
The Rising Sun United Methodist Church will once again be collecting items for the United Methodist Mountain Mission Truck, May 14-18. Use cardboard boxes, because they stack much easier than bags in the back of the trucks and the cardboard will be sold for gas money.
