Gibbons received impact award
The American Family Insurance Dreams Foundation recently recognized agency owner Doris Gibbons of Harrison as a Community Impact Award recipient. These award winners are recognized by American Family peers, staff and leadership for dedication to their community through fundraising, volunteerism, board service and advocacy.
Abrams gives testimony on stiffer hands-free bill
State Rep. Cindy Abrams (R-Harrison) gave sponsor testimony recently on House Bill 283, legislation that would make Ohio a hands-free state by expanding current law as it is related to texting and driving.

Library Happenings
Harrison Branch Library UMC Food Ministries The Harrison Branch is partnering with UMC Food Ministries this summer to distribute UMC Meal Boxes for Youth (18 years of age and younger unless on an IEP). Shelf-stable and ready to eat meal boxes contain seven dinners and seven snacks.
Tree Board recognizes contributions to city’s beautification
The Harrison Tree Board met Tuesday evening, April 27, at the Harrison Community Center Recreation Room for its annual Arbor Day program. Chairman Gail Chuck introduced the other board members: Debby Mossburger, Debbie McCane, Doug Lohman, Mike Mains (Council representative) and Mayor Bill Neyer.
New Big Lots opening
The new location of Big Lots will officially open at a ribbon cutting ceremony at 8:45 a.m. Saturday, June 19.
