Sorority meets, selects slate of officers
Phi Beta Psi Sorority, Theta Lambda Chapter, met Monday, March 8, at the Ohio County Public Library. President Pat Kinnett presided over the meeting with 13 members present.
New Transportation
SUBMITTED PHOTO Thanks to three area grantors – The Brookville Foundation, Dearborn Community Foundation and Vevay-Switzerland County Foundation – Safe Passage has a much more dependable vehicle to transport larger families and for moving clients and personal belongings to safer residences. The staff can also use it for large donations or for outreach events with bulky equipment.
State seeking 50- and 100-year-old businesses
State Reps. Randy Lyness (R-West Harrison) and Cindy Ziemke (R-Batesville) encourage local businesses in operation for at least 100 or 50 years to apply for the Governor’s Century and Half Century Business Awards before the March 31 deadline.
Food growers group receives grant
The Food and Growers Association of Dearborn, Decatur, Franklin, Jackson, Ripley, Rush, Shelby and Union counties has received a $14,720 Food Council Development Grant from Indiana Grown. The association was one of five that receives grants from Indiana Grown.
Art council calls for entries
The Dearborn Highlands Arts Council is calling for entries for artists in any medium 18 or older for Spring Into Art, an annual judged exhibition. There will be cash awards.
BMV Good Friday hours
All Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicle (BMV) branches will be closed Friday, April 2, in observance of the Good Friday holiday. Branches will resume regularly scheduled business hours on Saturday, April 3.
