Bonny L. Mapel, 96, of Brookville, Ind., passed away on Friday, May 30, 2025, in Brookville. She was born the daughter of Lee Roy and May (Grahm) Rudicil on January 4, 1929, in Cincinnati, Ohio.
She went on to marry the late Derrick S. Mapel and later retired from Sears. Bonny was a member of Brookville Baptist Church and of the Shawnee Dulcimer Band and played the violin.
Bonny is survived by her children, Debby (Mark) McQueen, Joan P. (Ron) Dunmoyer, Margie Watts, Philip (Bonnie) Gabbard, and James Arthur (Janis) Gabbard. She is also survived by 20 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, several great-great-grandchildren and her beloved dog Blu Lady.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Derrick Mapel, and her parents, Lee Roy and May Rudicil.
A graveside service was held on Friday, June 6, 2025, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Mike Holman officiating at Glen Haven Cemetery in Harrison, Ohio.
