At the Dearborn County Historical Society, work is progressing to recognize Lawrenceburg as part of the Underground Railroad and African American contributions in the Civil War. Noted black Civil War veterans from Dearborn County include William “Pap” Early, William Welles, George Willis, William Hobbs, and Nancy Jones served as a cook for the Union Army.

Greendale is waiting on information from two places on Phase 1 Trail Project. The project is expected to connect Ridge Avenue to the Lawrenceburg Conservancy District play fields and the Greendale soccer fields behind Lawrenceburg Speedway and Minder Drive.
Hester Jean “Jeanne” Evans, age 74, of Greendale, Indiana passed away Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2021, at St. Elizabeth Edgewood in Edgewood, Kentucky. Born July 13, 1946, in Cincinnati, Ohio, the daughter of George and Margaret (Reeves) Yauger.
The 40 residents of the Lutheran community on Village Drive received some goodies from a church in Cincinnati recently. Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Kenwood, just north of Cincinnati, donated a personal bag filled with goodies to each of the 40 residents in the building.
With the decision to close Moores Hill Elementary School, residents of the town are preparing and handling the closing in their own way. The South Dearborn School Corporation board voted 7-0 to close the school at the end of this school year due to decreased enrollment and the cost of keeping a school with about 150 students open.
West High Street and Front Street will be intermittently closed on Fridays, March 12 and 19, so concrete can be brought to the construction site of the Whiskey City Apartments. Lawrenceburg has given the OK for the concrete delivery between 3 a.m.
The Probasco Street Water Service Replacement Project is scheduled to begin Monday, March 22, according to Greendale City Manager Steve Lampert. The contractor, Bucher Excavating, is planning to begin on the west end of Probasco between the dead end and Nowlin Avenue.
