First Financial, associates give time and money

First Financial Bank, which has branches in Southeast Indiana, and its associates responded to a difficult year in 2020 by finding resourceful ways to help communities served by the bank, ultimately giving over $3.5 million in financial contributions and more than 8,900 hours of volunteer service.

SUBMITTED PHOTO Students at Rising Sun High School were able to obtain their food handlers certification via ServSafe thanks to certification scholarships provided by the Ohio County Community Foundation. Course content included basic food safety, personal hygiene, cross-contamination and allergens, time and temperature, and cleaning and sanitation.

Sattler contributing to pandemic’s end

For the past six weeks, Ohio County resident Susan Sattler has been volunteering at the Lawrenceburg Event Center where she is helping with the COVID-19 vaccination clinic. Sattler typically donates one or two of those days, helping with the administration of about 400 vaccinations each day.
