Four receive teaching scholarships

Three Dearborn County students have been awarded one of 200 scholarships to the fifth class of Next Generation Hoosier Educators awarded by the Indiana Commission for Higher Education. Emma Crouse of East Central High School, and Rachel Rohe and Caitlin Teaney of South Dearborn High School were selected through a competitive process based on academic achievement and other factors.

Michael Joseph Huff, 63, of Florence, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, May 20, 2021, at Carroll County Memorial Hospital in Carrollton, Kentucky. Michael was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, on March 17, 1958, a son of Donald Huff, of Cincinnati, Ohio, and the late Doris (Romer) Huff.

The sound of rapidly clicking video game controllers filled the South Dearborn High School Knights Esports teams’ computer lab May 21, as a focused group of athletes beat Kankakee Valley High School to claim the Indiana High School Esports Network 1A State Championship for video game Rocket League.
