The Week in Indiana History June 6 - June 12 1839 – The Whitewater Canal opened between Lawrenceburg and Brookville. The tow boat Ben Franklin was greeted with much enthusiasm by citizens all along the way.

Ten East Central High School FFA members competed in the Indiana FFA Nursery/Landscape Career and Leadership Development Event on April 24 at the Central Nine Career Center in Greenwood. Members participated in a number of categories such as landscape estimating, identification of plants, pests, disorders, equipment and supplies, a general knowledge test, plant propagation practicum, verbal customer assistance and a plant layout practicum.

College Notes

Youth Ambassador awards Graduating Youth Ambassadors each received an award of $250: East Central High School – Peyton Lyness, Griffin Werner, Sam Kirchgassner, Ryan Bond, Reid Cleery; and South Dearborn High School – Kaitlyn Baker. Love makes honors Abbigail Love of Aurora qualified for the Abbigail Love of Aurora qualified for the spring 2021 Dean’s List at Belmont University.
