Aurora’s God and Country Independence Day event at Gabbard Riverfront Park featured numerous vendor and informational booths, craft making (drums and flutes) for children, a Revolutionary War-era character re-enactment and finally a concert before the 10 p.m. fuse was lit for the annual firework display. Aurora Mayor Mark Drury and wife Margaret speak before the town’s annual firework display. A community in shock after the passing of 14-year-old Brady Gabbard, who two weeks prior was diagnosed with Stage 4 renal cell carcinoma at Children’s Hospital Medical Center, filled the Lawrenceburg High School bleachers July 6 to honor his memory and support a grieving family.
