Anna Lee “Annie” (nee Smith) Cole, of Harrison, passed away on Dec. 14, 2022, at the age of 91.
She was born on May 4, 1931, in Harrison, Ohio, to Edward and Goldie (nee Otto) Smith. Growing up she, along with her four sisters, helped her dad and mom on the family farm. Annie was a proud graduate of William Henry Harrison High School Class of 1949. She later married Russell Cole. She enjoyed bowling and was a good bowler.
Annie worked for Merchants Bank as a bookkeeper and also at St. Johns United Church of Christ as a treasurer for many years. She loved her church and her church family. Annie was always volunteering to drive friends and family to doctor’s appointments. She loved people and being around others and will be dearly missed by everyone she touched in life.
Annie was preceded in death by her loving husband Russell Cole; parents: Edward and Goldie (nee Otto) Smith; sisters: Betty (Vincent) Andres and Janet (Bill) Crum; nephew David Andres; niece: the special angel Julie Andres.
Survivors include her beloved sisters: Dorothy Hinssen and Katherine (Carl) Schaefer; nieces and nephews: Vincent (Barb) & Dennis Andres, James Hinssen, Jennifer (Mark) Schnizer. Also survived by several great-nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, Dec. 19, 2022, from 11:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1 p.m. at Brater Winter Funeral Home, 201 S. Vine St., Harrison, Ohio. Pastor Scott Holland will be conducting the funeral services. Burial will follow at Glen Haven Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to St. Johns U.C.C. through the funeral home. If you are unable to attend mail memorials to the funeral home made payable to the church. Family will be notified and sent to charity.
