MICHAEL K. HANKINS

 Michael K. Hankins of Logan, Ind., passed away suddenly on Saturday, May 25, 2024, at the age of 67. He was born on October 4, 1956, in Pittsburgh, Pa., to James D. and Patricia (Kelly) Hankins. Mike is a graduate of Perry High School and Duquesne University in Pittsburgh where he studied anesthesiology. He moved to Indiana with his high school sweetheart Roberta (Robin) Hankins to start his medical career and immediately fell in love with the rural community.
 Mike began his career at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati, later transferring to Dearborn County Hospital where he spent decades in the obstetric unit dutifully assisting in bringing thousands of newborns into the world. He was an active father and grandfather with unwavering love for his family. Mike was an avid outdoorsman and competitive shooter who most enjoyed introducing others to shooting sports and hunting. He had a philanthropic heart and contributed through dedicated service with the Boy Scouts of America, the Harrison Gun and Conservation Club, and the Freemasons. Mike always brought a smile to the faces of those he was around with tales of hunting and fishing adventures.
 Survivors include his sons Danny and Tommy Hankins; and grandchildren Henry, George, and Francis Hankins.
 Mike was preceded in death by his parents: James D. and Patricia (Kelly) Hankins.
