Ronald William Jacobs, 82, passed away peacefully on January 18, 2024, at home in Cicero, Ind. He was born January 9, 1942, in Goodland, Kan., to William Philip and Nola Pearl Jacobs and was a longtime resident of Aurora, Ind. Ron graduated from University of Colorado with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from University of Houston. Ron’s 38 ½ year career with Monsanto and Bayer Companies included process technology, production management, maintenance engineering, and vibration technology. Ron initiated, implemented, and maintained, with his specially trained team, the pioneering preventative maintenance vibration technology program at Port Plastics Plant in Addyston, Ohio. Ron was particularly known and highly respected for his sound problem solving and faithful reliability. For many years, Ron, also, served as National Vice-President of the Vibration Institute, a technological and professional training organization.
 Outside of work, Ron loved doing everything for and with his family whether it be camping, traveling, attending his children’s sporting events and academic competitions, scouting, youth ministry, mission trips, Children’s Sunday School teacher, and serving as a most supportive clergy spouse.
 Ron is survived by Janet, his wife of 58 years, daughter Ginger Jacobs and son-in-law David Schlesinger of San Diego, Calif., son and daughter-in-law Scott and Krista Jacobs of Noblesville, Ind.; siblings Cathy (Dan) Holmes of Pueblo, Colo., Bruce (Diane) Jacobs, Kansas City, Mo., and Robert (Carol) Jenks, Lancaster, Mo.; many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and four very loving grandchildren.
 A special “Ron Jacobs Celebration of Life Service” will be held on Sunday, June 9 at 2:30 p.m. at Aurora First United Methodist Church, 304 Third Street, Aurora, IN 47001. All are invited to fellowship, reminisce, and honor Ron’s life and commitment to God and community.
