OLIVER HARRY LOCKWOOD

 Mr. Oliver Harry “Ollie” Lockwood, 86, of Rising Sun entered this life on May 1, 1938, in East Enterprise. He was born to the parents of Leland Scudder Lockwood and Nina Pauline (Smith) Lockwood Jacobs. He was raised by his grandparents, Fred and Opal (Scudder) Lockwood in East Enterprise, where he attended school. Ollie was inducted into the United States Air Force on September 1, 1955, in Indianapolis. He was transferred to the reserves on October 8, 1957, and was honorably discharged with the rank of Airman 2nd Class on August 31, 1961. In 1965, Oliver was employed as a line operator for Seagram’s Distillery in Lawrenceburg, retiring in 1995 after 30 years of service. He belonged to the Union Local #6 and was a lifetime member of the Rising Sun American Legion Post #59 and the Aurora Fraternal Order of Eagles, as well as, the Aurora Moose Lodge. Oliver enjoyed playing pull tabs, gambling horse races and going to casinos. Oliver died May 1, 2024, at his residence.
 Survivors: caregiver, Davette Glenn-Kinnett (Rick Kinnett) of Lawrenceburg; daughter, Volena Lynn Wells; son-in-law, Forest McClain of Bennington; grandchildren, James McClain (Sonja) and Daniel McClain; half-sisters, Paula Kershner and Betty Reynolds (James); half-brother, Steven Jacobs (Jan), Robert Jacobs and Terry Jacobs (Jackie) and nieces and nephews.
 Preceded in death by parents and grandparents; daughter, Deborah Ann McClain; sister, Nancy Jo Hughes; brother, Loren Jacobs, Jr.; nephew, Brandon Hughes; stepfather, Loren Jacobs, Sr. and stepmothers, Bernice B. (Sullivan) Lockwood Pike, Gladys (Walton) Lockwood Peelman, Corene (Smith) Heath Lockwood and Norma Lee (Bovard) Sherman Lockwood.
 Visitation: 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., May 4, 2024, Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry St., Vevay, IN 47043.
 Funeral: 1 p.m., Saturday at the funeral home. Interment and full military rites will follow in New Liberty Cemetery.
