Dolores Fletcher

Dolores Fletcher, 79, of Rising Sun, Indiana, passed away Friday, April 7, at Shady Nook Care Center in Lawrenceburg, Indiana.

Dolores was born in Peoria, Illinois, on Feb. 27, 1944, a daughter of the late Dorothy (Neal) Miller and Harry F. Miller Sr. She was a 1962 graduate of Chillicothe High School. After her graduation from high school, Dolores completed training to become an LPN. She worked as a nurse for several years before moving to Indiana.

Dolores married Howard L. Fletcher on July 24, 1965, in Mossville, Illinois. Dolores and Howard were married over 57 years until her passing. Together they operated Fletcher Feed and Supply in Rising Sun, Indiana, from 1985 to 2012. Dolores was a faithful member of the Rising Sun United Methodist Church. She was also a 36-year member of the Phi Beta Psi Sorority and a 61-year member of Eastern Star.

Dolores enjoyed the outdoors, tending to her flower beds, camping, golfing and helping her husband on the farm. She also liked sewing and quilting. Spending time playing with her grandchildren and going to their events is something she loved most.

Dolores is survived by her husband, Howard Fletcher, of Rising Sun, Indiana; by her two sons, Darrell Fletcher and wife Stephanie, of Rising Sun, Indiana; Tom Fletcher, of Longmont, Colorado; by her grandchildren: Hope, Patrick, Chloe and Casey; by a sister, Jean Cheney and husband Dennis, of Clarks Hill, Indiana; by two brothers, Harry F. Miller Jr. and wife Deeni, of Chillicothe, Illinois, and Wayne Miller and wife Jane, of Princeville, Illinois.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, April 15, 2023, at Markland Funeral Home in Rising Sun, Indiana. Visitation will be held 5 p.m. to p.m. on Friday, April 14, at Markland Funeral Home. Burial will be at Rising Sun New Cemetery.
