Gloria Mae Cherry, 86, of Greendale, Indiana, passed away on Monday, Aug. 22, 2022.

She was born Dec. 24, 1935, in Aurora, Indiana, daughter of the late Albert and Mary Ann (Brandt) Ester.

Gloria was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Manchester, Indiana. She enjoyed bingo and crocheting. She liked to travel and loved spending time with her family. She worked as an office manager at Register Publications.

She is survived by her husband, William “Bill” Cherry of Greendale, Indiana; son, Bryan (Kimberley) Cherry of Greendale, Indiana; daughter, Sue (Charles) Martin of Greendale, Indiana; one sister, Marsha (Ronald) Westerfeld of Greenfield, Indiana; four grandchildren, Trisha (Scotty) Cherry Hoyes, Brad Cherry, Kelly Potter, Justin Heaton; four great–grandchildren, Nick, Nora, Henry, Beau; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Mary Ann Ester; and her brother, Curtis Ester.

Family and friends will be received on Sunday, Aug. 28, 2022, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Fitch-Denney Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at Fitch-Denney Funeral Home, Monday, Aug. 29, 2022, at 11 a.m., with Pastor Tim Russell officiating.

Interment will follow in the Greendale Cemetery, Greendale, Indiana.
