Adolf E. “Dolf” Garbsch, 91, of Aurora, Ind., passed away on Monday, October 13, 2025.
He was born on November 19, 1933, in Breslau, Germany, the son of the late Erich Garbsch and Klara (Rosentreter) Garbsch.
Dolf proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army from 1956 to 1958.
He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Science and Chemical Engineering from University of Michigan. Over the course of his career, he worked for Albermarle Pharmaceuticals/Developmental Company, Seagram’s for eight years, and Miami Fort Power Plant for another eight years.
A devoted fan of University of Michigan, Dolf’s enthusiasm for his alma mater was well known among family and friends. One Christmas, he famously asked only for a University of Michigan coat to wear while riding his bike. Dolf and Carol were proud members of Hamline Chapel United Methodist Church for decades. Dolf also served drinks on Wednesdays at High Hope Cafe for many years. Dolf was a member of Cincy Racquet Club and he loved to watch and play tennis.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, November 9, 2025, at 12 p.m. All are welcome to come to the Sunday church service at 11 a.m. which will be held prior to Dolf’s service at noon.
