WILLIAM DEAN GREENHOOD

William Dean Greenhood passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus with his family surrounding him at 1:30 p.m. on April 1, 2025.
He was born on September 10, 1946, and raised in Peoria, Ill. Bill graduated from Woodruff High School in 1964. He was involved in Youth for Christ. He attended Fort Wayne Bible College for one year before enlisting in the U.S. Army to serve our country for three years. He served in the infantry in the 7th Cavalry of the 1st Cavalry Division. He led the Barracks Bible Study during this time.
He returned to Fort Wayne Bible College to meet the love of his life. They married on August 30, 1969, and then back to the books at college. He served as Youth Pastor in Fort Wayne (Curdes) while finishing school before returning to Peoria. He finished his degree at Eureka College in Eureka, Ill.
He became youth pastor at Osco Community Church in 1975 and began his full-time ministry. He was called to start a church plant in Martinsville, Ind., where Faith Missionary Church officially opened its doors in 1977 under his pastoral leadership. God also called him to serve with International Ministries to Israel in Louisville, Ky., as a way to reach out and impact the heritage that was part of his own personal family while he attended seminary. He continued pastoring at various churches of Missionary Church Denomination and completed 50 years of ministry.
He always enjoyed studying the Bible and found great joy in seeing students respond to learning. He loved his role as Grizzly Greenhood at the Missionary Church Children’s Camp. His mini-camp was the largest every year as he taught them how to appreciate God’s nature.
He finished his time well here on Earth by teaching Sunday school and attending weekly Men’s Bible Study even in the weeks prior to his death. He never stopped witnessing. He never stopped teaching. And he never stopped learning. His ministry continued to the very end and his impact will carry on.
