THOMAS D. COOK

 Thomas D. Cook, 100, passed away on February 16, 2025, at his home in Lawrenceburg, Ind., with his daughter, Susan Cook Zwiesler, by his side. Survivors include his daughter, Susan (Cook) Zwiesler, granddaughter, Katherine Zwiesler and great-granddaughter, Nora Zwiesler, brothers-in-law, Jim Pribble and John Jontz. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean, his mother, Ester (Schmeltzer) Cook, father, Theodore D. Cook, sister, Carolyn Cook, sister-in-law, Sue Jontz and son-in-law Mike Zwiesler.
 Tom was born on May 30, 1924, in Lawrenceburg. He was a graduate of Lawrenceburg Consolidated High School in 1942. Tom is a World War II Veteran of the United States Army, EM 3rd Class and served in the European Theater with the 103rd Infantry Division in England, France, and Germany. Tom was awarded the Army Good Conduct Medal, World War II Victory Medal, American Campaign Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign (EAME) with two bronze stars for the Rhineland and Ardennes-Alsace Campaigns, Combat Infantryman’s Badge (CIB) and the Expert Infantryman’s Badge. Tom graduated Indiana University Kelley School of Business. He was honored at an IU Football game for his WWII Service, including a standing ovation with over 60,0000 people in attendance. Tom and his wife, Jean, were married on August 30, 1953. Tom was on the Dearborn County Hospital Foundation Board, IU Alumni Club of Dearborn County, Lawrenceburg Library Board, Treasurer for the Salvation Army of Southeastern Indiana, Treasurer for the Hamline Chapel Methodist Church and served on the Lawrenceburg Improvement Bond Bank Board at the age of 95. He was a Mason, a member of Lawrenceburg American Legion Post #239 as their oldest member.
 Tom was employed at Alton Box Company. He was also employed at American State Bank where he was the President for many years. He retired from the bank after approximately 50 years of employment.
 Tom enjoyed fishing, hunting, snow mobiling, and several trips to northern Michigan spending time with family and friends. He, along with family members, spent many winters in Cancun Mexico.
 Family and friends will be receive guest at Hamline Chapel UMC, 102 West High Street, Lawrenceburg, on Saturday, March 8, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Funeral services will be held following the visitation at 12 p.m. at Hamline Chapel UMC. Following the funeral, the burial will be at Greendale Cemetery, Ridge Ave, Greendale, Ind., with military honors.
 In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Tom’s Memory to Salvation Army, Cincinnati, Ohio, or Hamline Chapel UMC, Lawrenceburg.
