David Denton Jackson, 67, of Ohio County, Ind., passed away on Sunday, November 3, 2024, at the family farm he loved so much. Dave was born in Lawrenceburg, Ind., on January 11, 1957, a son of the late Ruth H. (Witte) Jackson and Paul D. Jackson. Dave lived most of his life on Woods Ridge in Ohio County. He attended grade school at Cass-Union and later graduated from Rising Sun High School, class of 1975. Dave worked as a mechanic for Indiana Highway Department for 20 years. First and foremost, Dave was a farmer. He especially enjoyed spending time on the tractor baling hay or whatever work that needed to be done. He was an excellent mechanic and welder as well and used his talents to work on tractors and equipment. He also liked going to farm auctions and finding that next project to work on. Dave loved the farm life and enjoyed time spent in his shop talking to friends and working along side his sons.
Dave is survived by his two sons, Richard Jackson (Lisa) of Ohio County and Robert Jackson of Ohio County; by his five grandchildren, Kyle, Kanen (Jessica), Lane, Morgan and Josie. Dave is also survived by a sister, Judy Givan (Terry) of Rising Sun and a brother, Dale Jackson (Missy) of Kentucky.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Monday, November 11, 2024, at Markland Funeral Home in Rising Sun with Shane White officiating. Visitation will be held 3 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, November 10, 2024, at Markland Funeral Home in Rising Sun. Burial will be at Rising Sun New Cemetery.
