Rising Sun High School honored the 40th anniversary of its 1984 boys basketball sectional championship team at halftime of the current Shiners’ varsity game vs. Hauser Saturday, Jan. 20. Former players, coaches and cheerleaders attending were, from left: Tammy (Walton) Johns, Jerry Pflum. Troy Courtney, Bret Martin, Ben Walker, Deron York, Tim Phelps, Rick Clark and Alan Poling. Representing former assistant coach Gene Adams - who was unable to appear due to an airline flight delay - on the far right were daughter Gina (Adams) Kremer and son Jay Adams, who were presented a signed game ball. Also honored, but unable to attend, were Darla Ballou, Tina and Tanya Land, Lisa Hewitt, Travis Pelt, Shane Baker, head coach Mike Wilson (deceased), Steve Ballard, Todd Wilson and Brian Romans.
